Podcast On Your Plan ep 43 with Amy Nicar and Julie Moore

IMG_20160825_130233287This episode features Amy Nicar, our state’s assessment BFF, and Julie Moore, Mustang Public Schools! We clarify and discuss a lot of assessment stuff. Amy has been hard at work reviewing possible test items with teachers across the state, including Julie. They give me all the details and, of course, we talk about aspects of education that need to be disrupted. Probably one of my favorite episodes! It has a little something for everyone! Podcast On Your Plan ep42 with Gage Jeter

Gage JeterFINALLY! Gage Jeter + Coffee + Podcast = one of the top 5 episodes! Gage has a growing fan club, and that keeps him busy. I’m so glad we had time to have coffee and chat between PD sessions. We cover teaching middles schoolers, college students, and organizing professional development that’s meaningful. Gage also shares some of his personal care strategies (e.g., morning journaling) and discusses what needs to be disrupted in education.

Podcast On Your Plan ep41 with Charlie Burns + MD PDOYP X-Post

CoZWZI8VYAA1VapThis is a mash-up episode! After a quick update on the status of the ELA Task Force’s Implementation Plan – code named: Implementation Framework + Implementation Collaborative – you’re going to be treated to a way-too-short conversation with Charlie Burns from Woodward public schools! We only had a few minutes to chat at EngageOK 2016 before I had to pack up and catch a ride to the next stop, but Charlie still managed to drop some knowledge on me and I hope you enjoy him too!

The second mart of this mash-up is actually a crosspost from the Mid-Del PD On Your Plan podcast with Matt and Chris! They were nice enough to have me on their podcast as a guest and we chatted about EngageOK, the ELA standards, and upcoming state assessments. It was fun and I think informative for the lovers of all things assessment.

Podcast On Your Plan ep39 with Heather Samis

Screen Shot 2016-07-26 at 10.59.56 PMHeather Samis is one of my favorite teachers! I’ve been fortunate enough to follow her career in Hugo, OK since before my time at the OSDE. She’s one of the original education leaders who helped create ELAOK teachers and lead the development of countless resources.

In this episode we reminisce about our past working history and efforts to support standards implementation, discuss the differences in the current implementation plan and the transition from classroom teacher to district leader.
